Contemporary artist Cathy Read creates vibrant metropolitan abstracts and appeared as a contestant on Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year in 2016. Returning as a wildcard in 2017. She was shortlisted for 2017Artist and Illustrators Artist of the Year and received the Wild and Tame award.

A lifelong interest in buildings fuelling these urban landscapes. She developed her
distinctive style on abstract paintings before interpreting iconic
buildings and cities.

Cathy exhibits around the UK, and has exhibited in Europe, Japan in 2021 and India in 2022. Her work is in collections in Canada, Africa and New Zealand. and her 2016 Oxford Almanack painting is in Ashmolean Museum in Oxford. .

A member of the Society of Women Artists she has been exhibiting with them in London since 2013, and received the Barbara Tate Memorial Award in 2015. Cathy has also shown with the Royal Watercolour Society and the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour in London.
