Sean is an ICF PCC accredited coach and AC accredited Team Coach. Additionally, Sean is a Crucial Learning SDI partner and team event facilitator. Initially coach trained in 2005, Sean combines significant commercial and operational experience with his coaching expertise for his clients’ advantage.
Sean helps his clients focus on leveraging their ‘people advantage’ to advance productivity and business performance, whilst making work more rewarding and enjoyable for all involved. This can be achieved through individual and/or team coaching. Fundamentally, his clients achieve more return from their pay-roll investment. Clients develop people skills to enjoy their work more whilst achieving improved business success and subsequently a better work/life balance.
Furthermore, Sean has helped many clients move forward with their careers, navigating self doubt to achieve significant success achieving their aspirations and goals.
Having worked with teams in the NHS, his clients include The LEGO Group, NHBC, Betway, Wilmott Dixon, Senior leaders in one of the most successful motor racing teams of the modern era. Furthermore, various SME businesses and numerous individual clients who want to maximise or modify their work / life success.
Background: Sean has nearly 4 decades of retail experience leading stores and large teams for Waitrose Supermarkets (John Lewis Partnership). He was recognised in his corporate career as outstanding for commercial performance and group leading results, particularly around productivity and profitability. Additionally, Sean was consistently recognised, within the John Lewis Partnership, as outstanding for employee engagement, which is a significant JLP accolade. He has a wealth of experience leading teams and multi-site management. Additionally, he led regional initiatives as a ‘subject matter expert’ in such areas as raising the customer experience, team leader development programmes, continuous improvement and stock management processes.
Sean has operationally led competitor acquisition projects, on separate occasions, with teams both in the UK and Channel Islands. Through coaching, mentoring and consistently role modelling leadership values, acquired teams were able to successfully transition to a new culture, new ways of working and increase profit above previous benchmark levels.
Sean is a positive and energetic individual who enjoys working with teams and individual clients. He has a good sense of humour and an ‘as appropriate’ light-hearted but pragmatic approach that helps identify and unlock the real issues for focus. When he’s not working Sean can often be found riding one of his bicycles or even racing one, if he’s feeling particularly fit and competitive!
Currently, one of Sean’s clients is an international business that is transitioning from an individual founder/ owner led business to one that needs future focus, business expansion and an increased commercial return. Working with the new Managing Director, Sean helps identify the opportunity and strategy for a future fit business team. In summary, the team needs a step change to sharpen their working practices and pull together with a collaborative and effective focus through a period of significant technical investment whilst maintaining their positive team attributes.
